MMKC was established in 1995 by a handful of families trying to keep their cultural roots alive in a home,  far away from home. Since its inception the primary goal of the organization is to preserve, maintain and perpetuate the heritage of Maharashtrians and Marathi loving people in the KC metro area. The Mandal aims to serve as a cultural and social hub for Maharashtrians and promote the Marathi language. It provides a platform for members to showcase their talent through cultural programming events. The Mandal makes every effort to bring external professional programming such as movies, dramas (नाटक)  and concerts for its members. 

Regular Programming

The Mandal organizes five base programs every year. For the festival events, either members perform on stage or an external program is scheduled, followed by lunch or dinner. The picnic is hosted at a local park or activity center, and snacky food is provided. Annual general body meeting is typically scheduled along with the Makar Sankrant program.
